SOUMYEN ADHIKARI    C.V

Soumyen Adhikari was born in a family devoted to music. Family ambiance drew him to music and visual art in his early boyhood. He went to study Fine Arts at Viswa- Bharati, but was ordained a Science graduate of Calcutta University .
Initiated into the A.B.C. of Music by his father Late Golok Nath Adhikari unsung hero. Later he learnt the Rabindrasangeet, Bengali modern songs from Shri Shyamal Chattopdhyay, Shri Chittopriyo Mukhopadhyay, Sri Probir Mojumder ,Sri Amal Mukhopadhyay, Sri Mrinal Bandopadhyay and Kanu Bhattacharya. His mother Smt. Shephali Adhikari who was compelled to bid Aden to music after her marriage is his greatest muse. During his early career in music, Soumyen came in touch with the legendary maestroLate Shri Hemanta Mukhopdhyay. He was blessed with the affection of Late Shri Hemanta Mukhopdhyay and was a son to him and his wife Smt Bela Mukhopadhyay.
During last two decades of his career in Bengali music industry, he was awarded with numerous nationally recognized awards including"Hemanta Smriti Puroskar",“Uttam Kumar Smriti Puroskar”and"Loke Nath Award"for devotional songs .
Cassettes and CD,s containing solo and duet performances of Soumyen with musical Celebrities like artists like Kumar Sanu, Haimanti Shukla, Lopamudra Mitra, Banashree Sengupta, Dipankar Chatterjee, Jojo , Amrik Singh Aroraand have been howcased by H.M.V, Gathani, Beethoven Records , Raga Music, H.T. Cassette, Miley Mishey, UD Seriesand many other music companies.
Soumyen has also rendered his voice in Bengali movie“SWAPNO PINJOR”and tele serials "Chirodiner Gaan”&“Sesh Bichar". Besides he is a composer and arranger as well. Akasvani F.M. Centre,Kolkata Doordarsanand other Satalight Channelsoften broadcast his performance and interviews. He has performed all over India and abroad and is a famous name among Bengali music lovers. His mellifluous rendition has left the audiences spell bound in various programs in USA, CANADA, UK, GERMANY, BELGIUM, SWEDEN, NEW ZELAND, SINGAPORE & BANGLADESH.
